Festival Poster I played around with this design for quite some time before I finally settled on this exact one. I feel that it is very simple and elegant. I feel like my 4 color design (red, grey, white, and black) makes it flow and it is very easy to read. Also, it goes with the colors on the website. I like the fact that it is not cluttered with a bunch of words, but it still gets the message across. I believe that because it is not cluttered with words, that it looks more elegant and thus would fit in the pages of a magazine that targets travel audiences. I also think that because it is not cluttered with words, that the art really stands out and is the main attraction on this magazine advertisement.

Menu I broke the text of the menu into different groups. First I had the main heading, or the food category. Then I had a special style for the little descriptions under each of those headings. Next I made a style for the smaller headings, and finally I made a style for the prices. I did this so that the menu would be very easy to navigate, and the customer would know exactly what they are looking at. I used the same font for the address of the restaurant, because it is in two different places, so it is more memorable. Also, I added in the picture of the drink because there was an odd amount of whitespace and I thought it looked bad. Lastly, I added the Hollywood star to put the specials in each week. That way it is right on the main cover, the first thing a customer sees!

Green Acres Logo I chose to make a logo for Green Acres Landscaping Company. The design is very simple. It is just four elliptical objects arranged to look like a close up of just one section of flower petals. I kept it very simple, with just one type of object and one color (in varying shades). I think the simplicity makes it look neat, which is what I was going for because it is representative of the work this company will do on a lawn. I made sure to keep the design very neat and free from clutter, just like the lawns they do.

I believe that this design is distinctive and bold because I took a risk and used colors that are more unique and a font that is not as common. I did the varying shades of green to represent nature and also the various different services that this company offers. Generally, it is advised to keep it limited to 2 or 3 colors so that customer can develop brand recognition. However, I felt as though I had a little more leeway because this is a local company, so it does not need to be recognized on a national scale. I chose the font because it looks very natural and organic, and I think that it is very representative of the type of work this company will be doing.

I really feel that all of these elements come together to show the versatile nature of the company as well as the great job that they will do. I believe that the design is eye catching but not overwhelming, creative but not cluttered.
